Flipping Our Thinking

Tomorrow is July 1st, 2020 - where did those first 6 months go? So much has happened, and our worlds have been so turned upside down, that at times those six months just seem a blur.

But now it is time to pull ourselves together and to regroup before we get left behind completely. It is time to enjoy the thrill of flipping everything and resetting our leadership and our businesses.

So, my intention, to the best of my ability, is to change the way I speak and behave regarding COVID-19. Sure, we have to talk about it, be vigilant in staying safe, and do the right thing, but from a business point of view, it has taken six months out of our life that we will never get back and so I am taking it out of my vocabulary when looking ahead.

We know the problem, and we know the unintended consequences, but it is time to plan for the future, as unknown as it might be, and to put our focus on what we need to do now.

So, let me ask you this – what do you want your future to look like? What are you prepared to accept and change? How will things be different for you? What new challenges will you introduce into your life? What will you quit?

These are all things that need to be addressed now if we are to truly move on from the problem to the solution.

We have heard so much about a crisis being the greatest time of learning, and that is true, but only if we allow it to be.

We must FLIP our thinking now if we are to truly learn the lessons that are in front of us and become better people and businesses because of those lessons.

So, let me also ask you this – What have you learned, how are you different, what will the new YOU look like?

Again, all things that need to be addressed and cannot be left to someone else to dictate.

I happen to be a person of HOPE and I strongly believe in the strength and goodness of humanity – therefore I am declaring that from 1st July 2020, that is what I will write about and that is what I will focus on for my family and my business.

Please join me on this journey of Flipping Our Thinking. Not to forget or to downplay what is happening around us, but to take back the controls which are totally within our power to do so.

Have a wonderful week and recognise again the power within you to adapt and change.
