Riding The Dragon: Taking Risks And Transforming Fear

Clare Bowditch is an Icon of the Australian Media Landscape. She is an accomplished speaker and business mentor, and prides herself on teaching both professionals and artists the balance between business and creativity.

Creativity is probably not the first thing that springs to mind when thinking about Leadership and Business Skills. However, creativity is essential for business success and a key characteristic of business innovation. For many organisations, (e.g. Airbnb, Netflix and Uber) creativity is the competitive advantage, and the foundation of their current and future success.

Clare Bowditch understands creativity. As an Aria award-winning musician, Logie-nominated actor and the host of the Afternoon show on ABC Melbourne, she has experienced firsthand, every aspect of creativity.

Claire is also an established social commentator, who has appeared on Spicks and Specks, Q&A and The Drum.

Clare began mentoring ‘creative-types’ over a decade ago as part of a ‘Musicians Self Management and Promotion’ course at her local community house. She recognised the need for business skills in the creative community and in 2013, launched Big Hearted Business, a social enterprise that helps creative people to build sustainable businesses.

Clare dedicates her sessions to teaching creative people about business, and business people about creativity.

At the 2016 Leaders With A Life Conference, she will be speaking on the subject ‘Riding the Dragon: Taking Risks and Transforming Fear’.
