A Year Full Of Opportunity!

Hi everyone, welcome back and also welcome to 2023.

The general consensus is that all of us finished 2022 walking around like zombies, too tired to care, so hopefully you have had a great rest and are looking forward to this year as much as I am.

2023 will again be a tough year, but I intend to make it a breakthrough year, both personally and for Proteus.

As I was reflecting over Christmas about where my state of mind was at, I realised that tiredness and exhaustion had made me start to look for ways out of situations, rather than breaking through and experiencing the growth within them.

So, here is my mantra for 2023:

Stop looking for ways OUT and start finding ways IN!

All this means is that every time I tell myself that I can’t do something, or I don’t want to do something, I use energy that can be channelled elsewhere. I choose not to focus all of my time and attention on looking for ways OUT, but looking for ways that I can turn the situation around and find ways IN.

I am sure you can immediately think of personal situations that could be made better, and work-related situations where you could look for ways IN rather than spending negative energy on how you can have less involvement.

I am a great believer that when we start to look for ways IN, that the frustration and angst we put ourselves through when we look for less involvement and participation, either dissipates or takes its rightful place.

I know this is a simple concept, but it is all about training our minds to get the best from every situation and not leave us exhausted and wondering. It’s not the involvement that exhausts us, but rather our attitude towards it.

So, I challenge you to look for ways IN this week at work and home, and don’t put immediate barriers up when participation or involvement is required.
